Since the brand split, SmackDown Live has arguably been the better show. It has made more with its roster with an hour less each week. Every segment of the show has felt important and helped further develop a story line.
The tag team division started out well with the feel good win for Heath Slater and Rhyno in the initial tournament to determine the inaugural champions. They put together a solid run but were eventually defeated by Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt, The New Wyatt Family. Two of the top stars on the show holding the tag team belts only helped to improve on the division’s strong start. The Wyatt family did not hold the belts for long as problems within the family helped American Alpha grab the titles.
American Alpha are a fantastic tag team but ever since winning the titles, the division has actually taken a step in the wrong direction. The division doesn’t consist of many teams who feel as if they are on American Alpha’s level at the moment, and the lack of real competition has hurt the champs current title run. With WrestleMania right around the corner, the SmackDown Live Tag Team Division should be aiming to put its best foot forward. The division holds plenty of potential and some of these ideas could help spark it.
